Allio Original Human Figure Nudes
to Be Shown at Invitational

UPSTATE SC - Two original mixed media artworks by Allio will be presented at the 2nd Annual Artist Invitational at the West Main Artist Co-op (WMAC) in Spartanburg from August 15 through September 14, 2013. Allio is one of 20 guest artists invited to present new artworks in painting, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media based on the theme of the human figure.

The Vines represents the first collaboration and public presentation of professional art model Faith Eikos in an Allio artwork. Breathless involves two nude female models and has evolved through various mediums in public Allio art presentations since 2010. This version of the mixed media two-dimensional artwork exhibited in the 2nd Annual Artist Invitational was created specifically for this art show. Both mixed media artworks extend beyond basic photography to include multiple layers of traditional fine art symbolism.

"This artist invitational exhibition is a bold art initiative by the West Main Artist Co-op," Allio said. "Although the human figure has been accepted as a traditional fine art subject throughout the world, in this culturally conservative region it is uncommon to find an entire show dedicated to this universal topic. I am honored to be one of several artists allowed to present the human figure in this positive setting."

A public Artist Reception for the 2nd Annual Artist Invitational is scheduled to coincide with the month-long show opening on August 15 from 5 until 9pm at WMAC. This program is partially funded by the Arts Partnership of greater Spartanburg which receives support from the South Carolina Arts Commission in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Arts and the John and Susan Bennett Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina.
