Artist Note: Historically, nude figure studies began as one or a series of sketches. The artist then completed the best of the sketches to produce a finished work of art. This photographic figure study began as a concept of a nude natural human figure interacting with the nippy water of a cool mountain stream.

"The theme for the artworks in this exhibtion were influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite 19th Century artists - painters and sculptors - and their efforts to draw attention to nature, plus a new and better way to express the topic," Allio said. "This decamerous exhibition of original nude female figure artworks reflect the dynamic relationship of the natural human form with lively water and the encompassing environment."

Water may be light or dark, transparent or opaque, moving or still. In these artworks, the natural human figure is a dominant counterpoint to the supporting rushing water. A blue monochrome was chosen to represent the impact of the numbing natural water against bare human skin.

Life model Leigh Hunter was the human element for these environmental nudes. In addition to the normal rigors of outdoor figure posing, she was forced to overcome the reverberating challenges of nature's stage.
